Nominations for Chapter Officers
Fellow Members,
In accordance with chapter bylaws, the Nominating Committee is seeking nominations for Chapter Officers for the one year term from June 2025 through June 2026. The positions open for nomination are: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Director positions.
Nominations must be received by Friday May 2, 2025 at 11:59pm PST.
The Nominations Committee will review the candidate submissions and identify acceptable candidates to include on the nomination ballot. The nominations slate will be announced in May at which voting will begin. Elected Officers will be announced and installed at the Annual General Meeting in June 2025.
Nomination Eligibility
Only ISACA Los Angeles Chapter members in good standing are eligible for nomination to the board. The preference is to have candidates that provide consistent positive contributions via Chapter Board experience or other non-profit organization leadership experience. Other factors that will be considered include leadership experience, the candidate’s network, the ability to work in teams, feedback from peers, and the candidate’s overall value proposition. Where there are multiple candidates for a position, the nomination committee may limit the slate to the most qualified candidate(s).
Candidates must also be willing to commit to the time needed to serve as a Chapter Officer. The Officer must be committed to volunteering the amount of time needed to get the job done in addition to participating in regular board meetings throughout the year. Chapter Officers typically volunteer anywhere from two to more than five hours per week, depending on the programs being putting on and matters facing the Board of Directors at the time. Candidates may self-nominate themselves using the submission form.
Officer Duties
Article V of the chapter bylaws describes the duties of the elected Chapter Officer positions. All volunteers with the ISACA Los Angeles Chapter must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA), and Conflict of Interest (COI) and Willingness to Serve statements. The nominating committee will make acceptability determinations of potential candidates based on their responses to the NDA, COI and willingness to serve statements.
Nomination Process
The nomination form requires information regarding the candidate. In addition, a brief bio and concise description of the candidate’s interest and experience in non-profit organizations similar to the ISACA Los Angeles Chapter is also required. There will also be a confirmation that the candidate will be able to commit to the time needed to fulfill the duties of the Officer position.
It is important the nomination form be complete, descriptive, and concise, as this will be the information used by the Nominating Committee to determine whether the candidate is acceptable. The nominations committee will also consider interested candidates that have communicated to them directly as announced in our prior dinner meetings.
If you have any difficulty completing the form, please contact us at nominations@isacala.org
Thank you for your time and consideration.
