Dear ISACA Member:The Information Systems Audit and Control Association’s (ISACA) Los Angeles Chapter’s Los Angeles next Meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 8th, 2013, at Monterey Hill Restaurant. The topic of the meeting will be “Information Governance and Downstream eDiscovery.”
Shannon Smith, Director of Information Governance and General Counsel at Globanet, will be presenting the topic on “Information Governance and Downstream e-Discovery” – a discussion on the risks and challenges relating to data security, compliance and e-Discovery. The pre-meeting CISO Forum will be meeting again in January, to be moderated by Richard Chew. Note that No photographs or recording devices will be allowed at the pre-meeting.Please plan to join this great educational experience and to take advantage of the opportunity for networking! Shannon Smith is the Director of Information Governance and General Counsel at Globanet where she manages a portfolio of eDiscovery and compliance offerings, including services to support the industry-leading ediscovery platform, Clearwell. Shannon also consults directly with corporate legal teams to develop policies and processes to support information governance programs. As an experienced attorney, Shannon brings an extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance, litigation readiness, and records management issues to her role. She is a member of industry groups EDRM and Sedona Conference and has contributed articles to a number of publications including Corporate Counsel and Information Management. Shannon has also spoken to various groups regarding cloud technology, preservation processes, and reducing eDiscovery costs. She is a Certified eDiscovery Specialist and holds both a Juris Doctorate and MBA from Loyola Marymount University. |
