President- David Alexander (CISM)
David Alexander is the Director of Information Security at Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, the nation’s largest municipal utility. He continues to enhance and has implemented a comprehensive Information Security Program. David is also responsible for the development and coordination of LADWP’s strategic and tactical IT security planning initiatives to reduce risks, respond to incidents, and limit exposure to liability that may result in financial and image loss to the utility. He is currently completing his first term as the LA Chapter President.
Vice President- Nelson Gibbs (CISA, CISM, CGEIT, CRISC, CIA, CRMA, CISSP)
Nelson is a Vice President and Senior Audit Manager of IT Risk & Governance at Union Bank. He has over 21 years of experience in IT, encompassing roles with operational, professional services, consulting, and auditing responsibilities. He is a frequent industry publication contributor and a regular speaker at local, national and international technology conferences and seminars for ISACA, The IIA, ISSA, and MISTI. He received his MBA in Information Technology from UC Irvine, and his Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from UC Santa Barbara. Nelson is currently completing his first term as a Director on the chapter board.
Secretary – Fausto Flores (CISA, CISSP, PMP)
Fausto is a Director with PwC with over 14 years of experience in the Information Technology field, including 11 years related to IT risk management and assurance. He has extensive experience developing strategies and managing projects for IT risk and compliance engagements in both the public and private sectors. His expertise includes advising various types of organizations on how to define, implement, and measure an IT risk and controls framework for regulatory compliance and improved IT governance. Fausto holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Irvine, and an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business. Fausto is currently completing his first term as the Secretary.
Treasurer – Faye Yu
Faye is a tax auditor of the sales and use tax department at the California State Board of Equalization. She demonstrates both knowledge and enthusiasm in accounting and IS auditing field as well as the ability to deliver work with high accuracy and quality. She graduated from USC with Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and received a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration-IS Auditing from Cal Poly Pomona. She is currently serving as the Registrar and has been instrumental in coordinating registrations for the chapter.
Director – Amanda Xu (CISA, CISM, PMP)
Amanda is the Vice President, Program Management Office Manager at City National Bank. Amanda has over 21 years of experience in IT Governance, IT Risk Management, PMO, Vendor Management, Information Security, and Audit. She has held various positions in the LA Chapter including President, Vice President, Secretary, Academic Relations Chair, and a volunteer for the 2002 to 2012 Spring Conferences. Amanda received a Master’s of Science Degree in Business Administration/Information Systems Auditing and a Bachelor Degree from Cal Poly Pomona. She is currently serving the chapter as a Director and Membership Chair.
Director – Thomas Phelps IV (CISA)
Thomas is the CIO & Chief Corporate Strategist for Laserfiche, the world’s largest privately held enterprise content management software company. Along with providing governance for IT, Thomas is an executive who leads the Marketing and Laserfiche Consulting organizations. This includes departments such as vertical and inbound marketing, data analytics, analyst relations, events, marketing communications, public relations, strategic sales, presales and professional services. Thomas was previously a director in PwC’s Security, Privacy and Risk national practice where he led multi-million dollar engagements at Fortune 500 companies. Thomas has served in various leadership roles with the ISACA Los Angeles chapter including president, vice president, secretary and board member. He has instructed the CISA review course for over 8 years and served on the Spring Conference committee. He has also served on the International Chapter Support Committee. Thomas is the President of Ascend Los Angeles Metro, part of the national Pan-Asian leadership organization (www.ascendleadership.org).
Director – Anna Carlin (CISA)
Anna is a Lecturer at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly Pomona). She teaches Information Systems Auditing, Internet Security, Management Information Systems, and Computer Forensics in the College of Business Administration, Computer Information Systems Department. She is in charge of the CIS student internships and recruiting efforts at Cal Poly Pomona. Anna also has over 15 years of experience in IT audit, software development, and operations management. Anna is currently serving the chapter as a Director and Academic Relations Chair. She is the 2nd Vice President of the Southern California High Technology Crime Investigation Association.
Director – Jonathan Chan (CISA, CISSP)
Jonathan is a Manager with Deloitte’s Cyber Risk Services practice with over seven years of management consulting and information technology experience. His most recent work include large-scale ERP security implementations, security and controls assessments, and deploying enterprise-wide GRC solutions to help clients address operational, financial, and regulatory risk. Outside of work, Jonathan volunteers by delivering a cyber safety awareness program to schools, youth centers, and other community events with the goal of helping kids protect themselves online. He has presented this program to over 2,000 kids across the nation. He currently chairs the Web Committee.
Director – Prasad Kodukulla
Prasad KodukulIa is a Principal Business Analyst at Amgen Inc., the world’s largest biotechnology company. He brings about 30 years of experience working at leading educational and research institutes and three of the world’s topmost Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical companies. He possesses deep domain knowledge across multiple scientific disciplines. He is a demonstrated Information Technology leader with hands-on experience including technology evaluation, IT strategy, architecture, system design, development, implementation, maintenance & administration, IT governance and risk management. He demonstrates 16 years of leadership in IT projects, programs & portfolio management, and service lifecycle, vendor, and outsourcing contracts management. Prasad helped re-launch the International Institute of Business Analysis – Los Angeles (IIBA – LA) Chapter, where he was a past Vice President of Professional Development Services. Prasad is also the current Chair of Marketing at ISACA LA Chapter. He helped launch the chapter’s Social Media marketing strategy.
Director – Micah Manquen
Micah Manquen is a Senior Associate in IT Advisory at KPMG. Micah has over 11 years of IT experience, including IT system administration, software development, and IT consulting. Micah has undergraduate degrees in Accountancy and Information Systems and has been actively involved a variety of ISACA LA committees, including acting as an instructor for the CISA review course and assisting the Academic Relations and Spring Conference committees. Micah currently serves as the chapter Vice President and chair of the Programs Committee. He has also served as the Volunteer Committee and has been responsible for finding and managing volunteers for the chapter.
Immediate Past President / Director – Kendrick Tse (CISA, CISM, CISSP))
Kendrick is the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at Newegg, Inc., responsible for Information Security, Business Continuity Management, IT Risk Management, ITGC systems testing, and PCI DSS compliance. He served as the LA Chapter President from 2012-2014. Kendrick has over ten years of professional experience in IT Risk Management and IT Audit. He received a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration/IS Auditing from Cal Poly Pomona, and received two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Business Administration/MIS and Accounting from University of Arizona.
